Main challenge of this project was ensuring only valid characters were converted to emojis at the correct time. This was solved through a large mapping system and verified using large amounts of test cases created with CATCH2 framework.Project was a very client facing one that impacted all our customer base immediately. Feedback was overall positive and bugs were at a minimum due to extensive test cases.• Refactor of large fileResponsible for the refactor of a very large (over 3000 line) and extensively used file for processing and displaying all our client's QPixmaps (used to render images on Windows). File was monolithic, bloated, and had a large amount of dead code.Successfully removed over 1000 lines of inefficient and dead code by improving major flows within the file. Verified removal of code through test cases. Each test case tested a different flow (different forms of avatar a client can have).Review and merge of code change was challenging as it affected many files, had many code owners, and ran into a lot of merge conflicts.
