Effective June 2012, Chris Davies was named Chief Financial Officer of Global Container Terminals (“GCT”), one of North America’s largest container terminal operations. He has oversight of all financial operations and is a member of the Company’s senior management team, reporting to the CEO. He completed a comprehensive refinancing of the Company’s debt in December 2013 and is the architect of a corporate reorganization effective September 2014. Chris previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Ainsworth Lumber (ANS.TO), the fourth largest manufacturer of Oriented Strand Board with primary sales markets in the USA and Asia. He was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s finances and capital structure, including maintaining public ratings on its debt with Moody’s and S&P. He was also responsible for information technology, risk management and internal audit activities. Chris was instrumental in the company’s expansion of product offerings into Asia. Prior to joining Ainsworth, Chris worked at MDA Corporation (MDA.TO), an international communications and information company, where he was the VP Finance. Chris was responsible for the company’s corporate finance, financial reporting, internal audit and global tax functions and shared responsibility for investor relations. Chris worked closely with the VP Strategic Development to complete approximately $1 billion in successful acquisitions in the USA and England. As a result of the Company’s successful acquisitions and organic growth, revenue increased from approximately $300 million when he joined the company to $1.2 billion when he left.
