As Director of Conservation in Puget Sound for the Nature Conservancy, I oversaw a team of roughly 14 people including scientists, field staff and policy advisers. My role involved developing and overseeing implementation of conservation strategies, setting conservation goals and allocating resources to highest priorities while also serving as a member of the senior management team responsible for overseeing $12M annual budget.

Co-founded and led the growth of a non-profit consultancy to become $1.5 M annual organization providing GIS, data analysis and mapping services to conservation and social service sectors in the Pacific Northwest. Supervised 10 person technical team that was recognized widely for its innovation and success building technology capacity among non-profit organizations and foundations.

Staff strategic lead on US Environmental Protection contract to develop first nationwide “State of the Environment” (SoE) Report. Facilitated inter-disciplinary technical team developing land cover & freshwater indicators for SoE and led bi-national team of state/federal scientists producing environmental health indicators for Puget Sound/Georgia Basin.

Oversaw public grant development and administration for a non-profit organization focused on sustainable economic development in Russia. Managed international relationships and multi-million dollar federal funding partnerships with USAID, USIA and US Department of Commerce. Led organization’s growth from 4 to 30+ people in three years, opened & established 3 overseas offices in Russian Far East and supervised bi-cultural staff.
