The software needed to be redesigned to support a modern graphical user interface. There was also a real-time aspect to the image-processing portion of the program since this was a medical diagnostic ultrasound-imaging product. Their system is being moved from Sun UNIX servers to Windows NT servers running IIS, MTS, and MSMQ servers. All new content is stored as XML and there are many converters required to serve up the existing legacy content as XML.
