I am an award-winning creative director and graphic designer with more than fifteen years of leadership in design, storytelling, and evolving high-profile brands. My goal is to create work that is emotionally engaging, meticulously crafted, and conceptually driven. I pride myself on being a passionate team builder who is devoted to fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration so talent can flourish. -Bio:I am currently Executive Creative Director and Partner at Watson in New York City. Previous to this, I held the role of Director of Global Brand Design at Herman Miller. For eight years I held the role of Brand Creative Director of Vanity Fair, where I was responsible for all touch points of the iconic media brand. Recruited in 2012 by the legendary editor Graydon Carter, I built a multi-disciplinary team that produced innovative design, photography, motion graphics, illustration, and typography, visualizing the content in a myriad of new ways. I also designed the branding and identities for Vanity Fair’s conferences, websites, digital verticals including the HIVE, social media, videos and marketing. Prior to this, I spent over seven years leading the art and design at New York magazine, under renowned editor Adam Moss. I joined a team of editors, photo directors, and journalists, to transform New York into a groundbreaking and acclaimed media brand. My art direction and design were widely recognized for their inventiveness and originality, creating an award-winning visual identity as New York magazine became a leading voice in national journalism. Earlier in my career, I spent two years as a designer at the New York Times Magazine, and worked on branding projects for the United Nations, Ogilvy&Mather and Lan Airlines in Chile, among others. I was hired right out of art school to be the art director of Adbusters, a Canadian journal about social and environmental issues, my redesign and art direction received international recognition. I have received more than 60 awards in all areas of visual communication, including gold medals from the Art Directors Club, Yellow Pencils from D&AD, and the National Magazine Award for design. I also have been fortunate to work with students, teaching design at art schools in New York, including Cooper Union, Parsons School of Design, and NYU. My work has been featured in numerous design publications, podcasts and websites, including a profile published in Eye, the international review of graphic design.
