Senior engineer in the Outlook & Office 365 Foundations team combining data science fundamentals with software engineering to improve engineering productivity and the overall developer experience in Outlook & Office 365. Some examples of current projects include:- creating a machine learning model to detect and predict build breaks - building a data pipeline to support deeper analysis of the engineering metadata generated by the Office 365 engineering process (version control, automated builds, static analysis, automated test results, code coverage, personnel metadata, code reviews, etc.)- analyzing and visualizing data using R to help managers make data-driven decisions - providing engineers with data and insights about their coding habits to help nudge them to adopt best practicesPreviously responsible for the design and implementation of a service governing engineer access to sensitive datacenter assets and customer data. Also contributed to the overall design and implementation of an Azure-based service for scheduling and orchestrating workflows across Office 365 services.

Worked on the overall design, implementation and testing of an internal workflow orchestration service. Responsible in particular for helping to deliver the scheduling component, which automatically selected data migration windows based on a complicated set of factors, including available datacenter capacity across geo regions for Office 365 workloads (e.g. Exchange, Sharepoint, Skype for Business), support staff availability by customer language, etc. Although the service was initially used to coordinate large-scale internal customer data migrations, it was designed with a more generic purpose in mind and grew to support broader change management across multiple customer-facing services.

Owned breadth client-side testing for a nascent product called Microsoft Equipt, which included developing a pairwise model of possible client machine configurations, designing a system to automate deployment of these configurations, and supervising a team of 8 contractors to automate individual configuration steps (e.g. installing a particular anti-virus suite). After this, transitioned to a role on the Live@edu team where I was the primary tester for an effort to bring federated single-sign-on to customers using SAML and WS-Federation, most notably a system that automatically negotiated configuration changes with customers' identity providers. This involved coordinating complicated testing efforts with several disjoint teams across Microsoft and with pilot customers at universities and other educational institutions.

Primary test owner for configuration and management UX for the Distributed Transaction Coordinator, a component in Windows responsible for supporting distributed transactions with multiple resource managers such as SQL databases, transactional queues, etc. Initially, this was limited to a GUI backed by the system registry but expanded to include a set of PowerShell cmdlets.
