Colleagues describe them as "Recently, Dr Chris Duffin came along to the Croydon Natural History and Scientific Society and gave a very interesting talk on. “Tyrannosaurus rex” The archetypal dinosaur, but was it a mighty hunter or a sniveling scavenger? What an intriguing idea and Chris fully explored and explained the various reasons for his theory. It really made us all view these wonderful creatures from the past in a new light. To try and think of them as snivelling scavengers or the mighty hunter we have always thought them to be, was quite different. He inspired us to take a fresh look at the world of the Dinosaur. Chris started his presentation using still images from Hollywood films to show us Tyrannosaurus Rex as the matinee idol we all love to be scarred of! But this light-hearted start soon changed to serious science, backed up by photographs of reconstructed fossils and discussion of their anatomy. I would thoroughly recommend this talk by Dr. Duffin, he has an excellent way of conveying information as well as making it entertaining. I do hope he will be able to come again in the near future."
