As Head of Veterinary Services, I was responsible for managing the operations of the Wildlife Health Branch and overseeing the Wildlife Nutrition Centre, coordinating the health care of the animal collection, developing and implementing science-based veterinary research, supervising the veterinary resident and extern training programs, developing and supporting collaborative partnerships with university colleagues and other veterinary and medical specialists, liaising with government agencies at all levels regarding animal health matters, and representing the Zoo in public-facing activities, such as tours, presentations, and media interviews. I helped with the design of a new Quarantine Facility, and was instrumental in the design and oversight of construction of both a Wildlife Health Centre and a Pathology Facility. Show less
