I am a hard-working, dependable, committed veterinarian that has specialized in zoological medicine with extensive clinical expertise in a wide range of species. I have taught undergraduate and graduate veterinary students for many years, both by direct lecturing and hands-on practice. I have excellent communication skills and considerable experience in leadership and management, including that of a veterinary hospital and ancillary services for a large zoo and conservation organization, and of a referral service in an academic teaching veterinary clinic. I believe that providing a combination of rigorous theoretical and practical training, allowing individualized mentorship, and giving constructive feedback using a tactful and empathetic approach, are key to providing an outstanding learning environment to students.
