Having been asked to return after the conclusion of my degree, I was moved to a claims handling position within the Belfast office of Allianz Ireland. my current role involves the investigation of claims, negotiating settlements and ensuring the fast and fair settlement of claims for the customers.Putting the customer first; my job involves liaising directly with clients, suppliers, solicitors and third party insurers to pursue claims settlement. I must manage all my tasks accurately to ensure an efficient and effective performance of my role, whilst working heavily with a variety of technology to successfully communicate, organise and utilise the information and knowledge essential to perform in my role.

Working with technology daily, I quickly learned and enhanced my understanding of technology through the use of various systems and coding mechanisms. I further developed my time management, customer service and communication skills as I developed a professional relationship with suppliers and clients alike through email and telephone whilst assisting them and my colleagues. Working in a professional environment also gave me an insight into the caliber of work expected within the modern business world, along with the understanding of many corporate principles such as compliance, data protection and rule adherement.

At the age of 16, I began employment at The Cookie Box. This is where I founded and developed my most fundamental and employable skills. Working in the food industry and in customer services, I began using the tills, baking cookies, making milkshakes for customers, which led to the development of my interpersonal and communication skills, team working and time management skills, along with basic food hygiene and health and safety awareness. I have always been an enthusiastic, driven and motivated individual, showing initiative, determination and entrepreneurship which led to me achieving keyholder status across 3 branches throughout Belfast. As I became a keyholder, I was entrusted with opening and closing stores, working alone and taking on many managerial tasks such as; the training and mentoring of new staff and managing the banking and daily finance. From the ages of 16-20, I worked with the Cookie Box as it flourished from one store to seven stores which has given me a very close insight into business development and growth, which resulted in my current strong aptitude and interest in the modern business world.
