I led a Dynamic Half Block course in January 2019 for undergraduates interested in pursuing a career in climate, energy, or environment. The class focused on what types of personal and professional impact students are seeking and improving resumes, cover letters and hard skills (like carbon accounting) and soft skills (like networking). We connected to professionals in a range of fields and visited offices around the front range to submerge students in a ecosystem of agencies, organizations and companies working to combat climate change.

Founded in 2011 by Governor Bill Ritter, the Center for the New Energy Economy works directly with governors, legislators, regulators, companies and stakeholders by providing technical and strategic assistance to help decision makers create policies that facilitate America’s transition to a clean energy economy. I worked to identify and educate decision makers on market mechanisms, financing tools, and incentive structures that help states invest and improve energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The Bell Policy Center is nonpartisan, nonprofit organization committed to making Colorado a state of opportunity for all. As a Public Interest Fellow, I supported out work on education, higher education, working families, fiscal reform and TABOR, and more. I conducted nationwide and Colorado specific policy analysis, and communicated my findings in white papers, postings, infographics and on social media. As part of our legislative affairs efforts, I lobbied on behalf of the Bell's positions and engaged communities around the capitol and across the state to further our agenda.

The National Conference of State Legislatures assists all 50 statehouses with the bipartisan research and policy expertise that keeps state governments strong and independent by giving them the tools, information and resources to craft the best solutions to difficult problems. As a Health Program Public Interest Fellow, I researched and tracked the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and supported the Health Programs efforts to answer queries and provide analysis for state legislators.

The Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) develops creative and practical solutions to enhance Portland’s livability, preserve distinctive places and plan for a resilient future. As a Youth Planner, I worked with a team to encourage high school students research and collaboration to design and implement planing exercises within marginalized communities. With GIS mapping, I helped inform out student researchers by comparing neighborhood assets across the city.

Focus the Nation encouraged students on higher education campuses to form coalitions and address climate change through education and action. I compiled a guide for college and university students interested in bringing solar to their campuses.
