Chris is a Professor of Economics who is committed to helping organizations become Future Normal (www.futurenormal.net) - enabling them to act meaningfully in our surroundings and purposefully to benefit themselves and society. A Future Normal organization is one where the CEO and their teams are enabled to meet the challenges of the coming decades and in so doing they are building a business their children will be proud of. Academic research and consulting interests include social and economic project/program evaluation, tourism economics, natural resource and environmental economics, sustainable development, the economic determinants of subjective wellbeing, indigenous wellbeing, and the sustainable management of natural resources.Chris is currently Dean (Research) for the Griffith Business School, formerly the Director of the Griffith Institute for Tourism and Director of Griffith University’s MBA program. Prior to academia, Chris was employed as a Senior Consultant for MainStream Economics and Policy, and Marsden Jacob Associates, as well as a Senior Advisor within the Sustainable Development Policy Group of the New Zealand Ministry for the Environment.Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Otago, a Master of Applied Economics with first class honours from Massey University and a PhD (Economics) from the University of Queensland.
