I have 20 years of design and management experience in the irrigation sector, 15 of which I was directly employed by southern Alberta irrigation districts.I was the lead designer or project manager rehabilitating irrigation canals to closed pipelines for the Lethbridge Northern, Eastern, St. Mary River, and Taber Irrigation Districts. I have extensive experience optimizing alignment and sizing and implementing effective debris-resilient intake systems. Emphasis on understanding the farmer and the district policies and practices are key to successful project delivery.I have been responsible for dam and canal safety for several structures and developed/implemented many aspects of district Dam Safety Management Plans to achieve Dam Safety Directive compliance.I also have a passion for the environment and has been integral to the design of several constructed wetlands, denitrification bioreactors, reservoir riparian enhancement initiatives and other naturalized agricultural drainage systems.I am active in the Alberta Irrigation Districts Association (AIDA), Canadian Water Resources Association (CWRA) and their affiliate the Canadian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (CANCID).Outside work I enjoy playing recreational hockey, cross-country running and biking, and spending time with family and friends.
