Founding Partner
CurrentThe son of a foundation executive for colleges in Virginia, Chris Gammon always admired how his father made a living by doing good. Chris’s family tree is populated exclusively by service industry men and women, so it was inevitable he would thrive in a long career of serving others and helping them become the fullest expression of themselves. Not surprisingly, Chris does his best work with fellow professionals – closely-held business owners (past and present), his fellows in the professions (such as finance, education, engineering, medicine, law, and consulting), and like-minded stewards and servant leaders. It also explains his particular fascination with charitable planning.Chris’s dream is to do his best to personify Verum Partners’ mission, vision, and values, beginning with improving the lives of others. To Chris, that starts with being a source of encouragement first to his Verum teammates, and then to Verum’s clients and their fellow professional advisors. Chris’s calling is not to climb the corporate ladder but to climb down the ladder and hold it for others. The seeds of what is now Verum Partners were born of this. One of many seminal moments in Chris’s early years was his embrace of the Honor System in undergrad. The other half of Verum’s mission or core focus, raising the bar on the wealth management industry, is a current-day reflection of this. Now in its fifth decade, Chris’s career has spanned traditional commercial banking; multinational corporate banking; corporate finance, capital markets, and investment banking; and wealth and investment management. A Founding Partner in Verum, he serves as a Senior Adviser, as well as Head of Enterprise Services, and Board Chair. Chris is inspired daily to try to live Verum’s core values: reliability, effective communication, awareness, continuous improvement, and thoughtfulness.
