Assisted a team of Russian speaking geologists with the primary task of updating maps of the underground drives of the gold and silver mine. This included:Lithological Mapping of hydrothermal breccia with various igneous intrusions.Observing and measuring faults, major veins and joints.Observing and commenting on amount of hydrothermal alteration and current fluid flow (in faults and veins).Measurements were taken using a laser distance measuring devices as well as traditional compass clinometer work.Inputting observed data into AutoCAD which was subsequently exported into DataMine for 3D processing. The work and data collected provided the basis for my masters project. I was also asked to assist Junior Mining Engineers with various tasks including a hydrological study of the site, which included design and fabrication of several v-notch weirs.
