I worked alongside the reserve warden in various tasks including the completion of numerous Wetland Bird surveys (WeBs), Breeding Bird surveys and Butterfly transects. Volunteering here helped me to improve my survey and research skills within a professional setting where the data collected was being analysed and management practices put in place as a result.

Peru

I completed a research project in the Peruvian Amazon, surveying a wide range of biodiversity.Adapted to a new surrounding and the language barrier with the guides, in order to collect data on the variety of wildlife as part of a research team.Our evidence was used to produce a report presented to the Peruvian government as empirical evidence to continue to secure the Pacaya-Samiria as a national nature reserve, underlining the importance of its biodiversity.
