All in all a great selection of equipment.Since Sept-2015 I have been working at the construction site leading the team of rotating equipment engineers and inspectors providing Technical Quality Assurance oversight for the construction phase, which should be complete by the fall of 2016, with startup about 6 months later. This is a new company, in the early stages of a project to build a multi-billion dollar green-field oil-sands upgrader outside of Edmonton. I'm one of 4 rotating equipment engineers.

I led a team of 4 rotating equipment engineers supporting Shell's operations in Canada (refineries, gas plants, oil sands mining and upgrading), as well as projects for Canada.

At the time I left Fluor to join Shell Canada, I was the Lead of the Rotating Equipment group (>20 in this group) for the Fluor Calgary office (>1000 employees), and a Lead Mechanical Engineer on various projects.

My first job after university. I started as an EIT, and when I left in 1998 to join Fluor, I was a senior mechanical engineer leading a team of 8 engineers in troubleshooting and solving problems at NOVA's 50 pipeline compressor stations (typically gas-turbine driven centrifugal compressors, most with dry gas seals, many with magnetic bearings).
