My responsibilities included mechanical design for video broadcasting infrastructure and switcher-panel equipment. Using Autodesk Inventor CAD software, I designed rack-mounted frames and modular switcher consoles for the global broadcasting industry. To ensure optical connectivity in a blind-mate condition, I developed a patent pending latching system. I worked with outside vendors (sheet metal, machining and moulding) and performed other tasks including cost reductions, tolerance and thermal analysis, ways to increase manufacturing efficiency, and ways to improve manufacturing techniques and user experience. I pursued my interest in building custom furniture by building high-end, European style furniture (kitchens, built-ins, millwork). I also introduced CAD to the cabinet making work environment.

This mission-critical computer was designed to meet stringent military criteria, which allows for operation in harsh environmental conditions.

A member of a design team within a multi-disciplinary research and development centre, I participated in the design of new-concept cooking and laundry products, as well as designs to maintain and improve existing product lines. I also helped create and maintain Inglis product-line computer graphics.

I worked in all areas of product design with this private design firm. My duties involved research, conceptualization, presentation renderings, model making, critiquing, prototyping, product design drawings, developing briefs with clients, exhibit design, and signage. The products I worked on ranged from an injection moulded lawn mower series for Black & Decker to automatic electronic test equipment for Mosaid Technologies.

I worked as an industrial designer for a French consultancy responsible for generating concept renderings and design solutions for domestic and international clients including: Alcatel, Schlumberger, Gilson Medical, the Chicago Transit Authority and Franco Rail.

Working primarily on transportation design projects, I was a member of a team that developed the interior of a specialized taxi for Magna Industries. I also created design concepts for VIA Rail, Versatile Tractors, and Simms paint products.
