Chris Gough Email and Phone Number
my name is Chris Gough and I currently work at CAHMA as the Executive Director. I am a strong advocate of harm reduction and firmly believe in consumer guided and driven programs. At CAHMA I try and lead by example and strongly promote community development by volunteering and peer workforce development. seeing people who were struggling find meaningful employment is a strong passion of mine.I have my own story with volunteering, drug use and vocational development. From Entomology I transitioned to social health working first in Crisis Accommodation catering to high need clients and then began volunteering, and then working in the blood born virus (HIV, HCV, HBV) prevention and treatment field. This area involved development and execution of community development projects including front line NSP (needle and syringe program) outreach work as well as peer education projects and policy. After volunteering and then working at NUAA, I worked at MSIC before taking on the Executive Director role at CAHMA. I've been with CAHMA now for over 7 years and I am proud of the work I have conducted taking CAHMA from an organisation auspiced by AIVL, to an independent, community controlled organisation, which seeks to fulfill the needs of the drug using communities in the ACT.

Library ShelverState Library Of Queensland Jul 1995 - Jul 2001Brisbane, Queensland, AustraliaMy first job. I reshelved books on the weekends at the state library and retrieved books from stack. We were also in charge of the photocopiers. There were a few big recataloguing events I volunteered for including putting all of the tattle strips in the collection. It took a couple of weeks and we shut the library and pumped it out:) -
