I started my working life as an apprentice Boat Builder back in 1980. After completing my 4 year apprenticeship and a further two years I moved over in 1986 to Shopfitting. I spent the rest of the 80's as a self employed Shopfitter. With the downturn in work at the end of the Decade I took Norman Tebbit's advice to get on my bike, and went in search of work in the USA. I worked a few insignificant Jobs at first, Chimney Sweep, Gutter Installer etc. I then became Foreman of a Wood Shop for a large Store Fixture Manufacturer briefly before gaining promotion to Wood Shop Manager. I held this Position for five years until returning to the UK to care for my terminally ill father.Since returning to the UK I have mainly worked as a self-employed Shopfitter, Foreman and Site Manager for a variety of Contractors/Sub-Contractors, the most notable of which was Clapham Library Building where I was Site Manager for Cre8 Interiors. I was responsible for overseeing the interior fit out of the Library itself, two medical facilities (PCP & PCT) & the installation of 194 fitted bathrooms in the flats above.I am Currently working as a Site Manager for CDS Group Services, running fast track shop fits for clients that include Asics, Kipling & the Range.
