I started in the transformer industry straight from school, with the well respected Midland Transformer Company, The MD, who became a bit of a mentor to me , instilled the philosophy "whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability" I adopted this philosophy throughout life. I joined Power transformers at the age of 21 as Electrical Test Engineer reaching the position of QM at 27, by 30 i had the ambition to start my own company, this evolved in 1998, in the form of Bromsgrove Winding Services (BWS) which started from humble beginning's from my garage at home, it grew through sheer grit, hard work and determination, during the 21 years we oversaw the business. It was eventually sold and continues today under a different structure, we completed some of the largest mining transformers ever put into service most still operating today. Now a new chapter has started, I joined FT Transformers UK in May 2021, yes we have work to do, but nowhere near what I thought or was led to believe. We have a dedicated team who the same as me want the best for the company, we manufacture a quality product by people who genuinely care. With this team behind us we can only go from strength to strength.
