FounderBack 41 Jan 2024 - PresentAustin, Tx, UsBack 41 is a Texas based 501.c.3 with the mission of adding a new skill set to Public Safety/First Responders that are Injured on Duty. The majority are able to return to Active Duty, in some cases they can't. When they are unable to return to service, their options are to move to a staff role or medical retirement. Back 41's goal is to give them another option, adding Drone Pilot Skills to their current operational experience, and allowing them to get Back In Service. 10 Codes are used by many agencies. 10-41 signals 'In Service’. Back 41 helps First Responders get 'Back In Service'. Drone adoption with first responders is expanding rapidly. 'Eyes in the Sky' increases situational awareness and improves public safety outcomes. We provide the drones, training, and tools, allowing them to support their agencies with a new skill set at no cost to the First Responder or their agency. We support all Public Safety/First Responder agencies. Back 41 is in the start up mode for 2024. Pilot 1 is completing the program now. We will train and equip Pilot 2 and Pilot 3 in 2024. Based on success, we will scale up in 2025. Thanks to all our Public Safety/First Responders for protecting and keeping our communities safe -

Vice President Strategy And Planning, Global Service ProviderCisco May 2012 - Jun 2016San Jose, Ca, UsIn the last 3 years I helped established a $12.5B business at Cisco, made up of the top 100 strategic and emerging SPs on a global basis. Developed the organization and business model to align to our top customers, focus on their business outcomes, and accelerate decision making. Built new processes for portfolio management, forecasting, and integrated account planning. For the 2 previous years I was VP Sales Strategy and Planning for the Americas Region. That business represented 60% of Cisco's total and cover all Customer Segments in the US, Canada and LatAm. The primary role was similar to GSP, but had more focus on leveraging best practices across Customer Segments, helping establish a focus in Brazil and Mexico, and aligning forecasting and planning processes. -
Vp Sales And Business DevelopmentCisco 2003 - May 2012San Jose, Ca, UsFor the first 6 years I led the Cable and Media sales team in the US. That business grew every year and we made 4 strategic acquisitions, including the $7B acquisition of Scientific Atlanta. During that time we helped our customers roll out the Triple Play with VOIP and took over market share leadership in the Access, Core and Edge routing segments. For the next 3 years I was asked to lead a global business development team that focused first on the Video segment. That leveraged my experience with the Cable market and helping sales teams position our Video portfolio on Cable and Media accounts including Liberty Global, Rogers, NET, and KDDI. And then later I led the global BD team focused on our routing, switching and optical portfolio. -
Vp Ww Sales And ServicesJuniper Networks 2001 - 2002Sunnyvale, Ca, UsDirectly reporting to the CEO, I was responsible for all revenue generation and customer service, and was an officer of the company for this $800M routing business. Our primary markets were Communications Service Providers, Higher Ed and Public Sector. Built sales strategy to penetrate the Tier 1 SPs including ATT, DT, NTT and Verizon. Hired new leadership for Europe, APAC and the Services team. Rationalized the Channel and helped drive multiple acquisitions including Unisphere and Pacific Broadband. -
Vp Sales And Business DevelopmentSun Microsystems 1985 - 2001Palo Alto, Ca, UsFor 3 years I led the Global Telco Business Development team. Our focus was helping the teams build executive relationships, open new business opportunities, and replicate successes we had in the US. We represented Sun at all the major trade events including ITU and WEF. And consistently grew the business leading up to the launch of our 'ServiceProvider.com' campaign we launched in NY.After that I was asked to run Global Sales Operations that included leading all Vertical teams, field training and development, compensation, FY planning and goaling, the global demo centers, and forecasting. We supported the global sales team which at that time was over 5000, generating $18B in revenue. -
Sales Rep, Manager And DirectorSun Microsystems 1985 - 1995Palo Alto, Ca, UsI joined Sun in 1985 when it was a $100M company. At the time I was a sales rep in Dallas and opened up major new accounts including Amoco, Mobil, Arco, Fina, Ericsson, Boeing, E-Systems and SMU.After 3 years was promoted to Regional Manager in Denver and focused on Commercial and Telco Markets. We penetrated several new end user accounts including Coors, Storage Tek, Great West Life, US West, ATT and TCI. We converted Storage Tek to an OEM and added Auto-Trol and Daisy-Casnetics for global OEMs.2 years later I was promoted to Operations Director for the Rocky Mountain and Midwest Operation. That covered 14 states and was responsible for sales to all customers, services, and building out a Channel. At that time, Sun entered the data center business and we penetrated several new customers including Norwest Mortgage, Master Card, Sprint, First Data, and several government contractors. But the biggest success we had was in the service provider markets. We took US West from $2M to $50M a year: TCI from $0M to $25M: ATT from $5M to $25M, SW Bell from $4M to $20M. All thru building executive relationships, understanding their business issues, and replicating success. That is what led to my promotion to VP Global Service Provider and move to HQ in CA.
