-I was an original partial founder/owner of picoSpin.-Designed, laid out, and wrote embedded code for thermometer/temperature controller with 15uK resolution over 65C range that achieved <200uK peak to peak temperature control ripple for magnet of NMR spectrometer.-Designed, laid out, and wrote embedded code for 9 channel shim current controller for low noise and stability.-Laid out all PCBs associated with picoSpin 45 NMR spectrometer.-Set up manufacturing, purchasing, part numbering system, and accounting interface processes for picoSpin.-Implemented the ERP system and Kanban systems for picoSpin.-Implemented ECO process and beginnings of Quality Management System needed to eventually get ISO 9000, etc.

-Intuitive Instruments is a product development consulting company and developer of instrumentation and controls products.-Consulted on picoSpin NMR product before we actually incorporated and became picoSpin.

-I was a founder and part owner of Instrutech.-Designed the hardware and software for all of the vacuum gauges.-Wrote and developed the 5 year product roadmap as Engineering Manager.-Wrote the product specifications and managed their development.-Brought all of the products to market for the first 6 years of the company from conception to agency approvals and production.

-Designed products on a contract basis for other companies.-Designed hardware/software for a wireless gate access system with secure, encrypted communications.-Designed hardware/software for credit card signature pad for point of sales systems. This system used an 8 bit Atmel 4433 processor and a resistive touch screen.-Designed IR transmitter/receiver for PCM encoded data for 100 feet of optical data exchange.-Designed hardware/software for point of sale device with a ¼ VGA LCD, resistive touch screen, credit card reader, USB, 4 serial ports, Ethernet, and 56K modem.

-Took over the design/redesign of an ultrasonic flowmeter from outside source.-Designed hardware/software for RTD input module using 24 bit ADC.-Designed data logger with 8 bit Microchip processor and low power battery components.-Worked closely with manufacturing on process improvements and release of products to production.

-Designed hardware/software and system for hydraulic mold-making press. This involved universal input, closed loop motor control, closed loop heater control, and LCD interface with support for 7 languages.-Designed hardware/software for product line of precision saws. This also included various closed loop motor controls up to 2HP. Designed stepper motor controller for precision sample alignment.-Designed software for 11HP 3 phase electronic brake for large modular cutter.-System design and circuit design of automated polishing system ($35,000 machine). This involved 3 servo motor positioning systems for 3 axis robotic arm, 2HP dc motor control, compressed air control of actuators, and system control via PC.-Tested and modified over 20 different products to bring them in compliance with CE mark requirements.-Addressed quality issues and implemented system to accurately diagnose problems and reduce repair costs.-PCB layout on at least 20 PCB’s for digital, analog, and high current/voltage applications.

-Designed hardware/software for embedded control system including high speed data acquisition and fiber optic interface.-Designed universal in-house production test fixture for over 60 PCB’s.
