My role as IT Manager sees me responsible for the whole network and all matters IT related. Investigating best practices and changes in technology as well as delivering on projects form a significant part of my role. Since starting, I have consolidated and streamlined the physical and virtual servers to create a more efficient and organised setup. I have created the schools IT Strategy and am currently building it into the IT Development plan with Senior Leadership. With the multi-million pound new build completed in 2021, a portion of my time was spent planning data and room layouts whilst liaising with external contractors and governors.

Employed as the IT Manager, responsible for the entire network and all matters IT related. Iprovide support from 1st line through to 3rd line due to the small team. I am responsible forreprographics, desktops, AV equipment, telecoms, networking, servers and everything in-betweenneeded to support an educational establishment. I manage the technician’s workload and shareknowledge wherever possible to aid in their progression. I have held training sessions for allteaching staff and am more than comfortable speaking to a large audience. My budgeting skillshave vastly increased over the last 5 years partly due to cuts which have forced me to be moreresourceful and find alternative ways to save money. I am responsible for all IT assets which Icollated into a central database and keep stock off all toners and consumables required for variousequipment. I manage a number of service support contracts from air conditioning to telecoms andensure regular checks are carried out to prolong the products lifecycle and prevent unacceptabledowntime.

Employed as the IT Technician, working closely with the Systems Manager to support over 500users as well as maintaining two HP ProLiant DL380G7 servers running Hyper V, 10 virtualservers running 2003, 2008r2 and 2012. Helping manage the IT Apprentice’s workload. Imaintained over 100 desktops/laptops/tablets which included the installation of a suite ofMacBook’s and set of iPads. I was the main point of contact for all end user issues and it was jobsto ensure problems were resolved as quickly as possible to keep teachers teaching. During mylast year I helped with the training of an apprentice by managing their workload and teaching thema range of skills.

My responsibilities included supporting both the students and staff for all IT related problems andmaintaining the schools network. Design and maintain the school website on a weekly basis.Assigned to an IT class to provide one to one support and assist with teaching.
