About Chris Karayannis

I am a learning and development professional with more than 35 years of experience serving in leadership roles of increasing responsibility. I have extensive experience in training, training management, curriculum design and instruction, evaluation and assessment, leadership development, and coaching and mentoring. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business & Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and a Master of Secondary Education Degree from Old Dominion University. I am also a Certified HR Organizational Development Practitioner. In my new role, I am responsible for identifying and addressing the training and professional development needs of NCS staff. Previously, I taught for FCPS as an Advanced Academics teacher in the International Baccalaureate Program for 16 years, in addition to teaching FCPS’ Special Education and English Language Learners in the early stage of my 22-year teaching career. Additionally, I was an Instructor in the FCPS Online Campus for 21 years and served as an FCPS Sponsor and County Coordinator for the Fairfax County Youth Leadership Program since its creation in 2000. I am also a very proud retiree of the United States Army Military Police Corps.
