Research from our team and collaborations has revealed important new insights regarding ischemic vascular growth and remodeling along with chronic inflammation responses. These findings identified critical roles of circulating and vascular tissue hydrogen sulfide metabolite and nitric oxide production in models and clinical settings. Recent work has also uncovered new insights regarding hydrogen sulfide and polysulfide regulation of DNA repair. Ultimate goals are to translate new discoveries into new therapeutic approaches for cardiovascular disease.
