As leader of the Operations Finance team, my role is to ensure compliance with ASPE and corporate policy across our portfolio of companies, lead accounting and finance due diligence activities on all acquisitions, support that business with financial analysis and finance support for any ERP implementations.

This is done by working directly with, and training, the controllers across our companies.

Established in 1902, McLean Foundry is North America's first choice for grey and ductile iron castings for the automotive and pulp and paper industries. Responsible for all Finance and Accounting Functions, from operations to business strategy. Lead business partner for Human Resources and Health and Safety. Train and mentor other controllers within the group of companies. Chair of the foundry controller leadership group (eight foundries) within the Canerector organization.

Responsible for Leading all Accounting, Financial Reporting, Human Resources, and the Health and Safety Program for a large manufacturer of personal care products with two facilities in Southern Ontario. Full oversight and control of all activities from entry, to production of monthly financial statements and analysis, to year end audit. Improved Internal Controls. Full Management of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General, Costing and Inventory Accounting. Lead this team into an environment of improved control processes and standards.Created and implemented a Health and Safety Program from the ground up ensuring compliance with OHSA as well as supporting GMP. Implemented an employee benefits program. Built a new standardized process for employee on-boarding and training. Willard Manufacturing is an industry leader in providing turnkey contract manufacturing solutions for clients in the personal care and household cleaning markets. Equipped with speciality filling, ultra high-speed, and powder filling equipment, Willard’s wide ranging capabilities and complex quality assurance protocol has assisted our clients in marketing their products throughout North America and around the world. Today, products that are produced by Willard can be found on the shelves of mass market grocery, drug and mass merchandise retailers.

Detailed budgets, forecasts, KPI, and analysis for transit operations in B.C. as well as Canada East. Liaison with internal and external audit, Statistics Canada.Key Accomplishments: Developed new budget model to save time and get more accurate results (better identifying run rate cause and effect relationships), Created new reports that helped senior management to focus quickly on areas of location performance needing improvement.

Managed and Reconciled key components of the Balance Sheet including Long Term Debt, Accruals, Strategic Reserves. Key Accomplishments: Created a new location P&L that used excel and Essbase (allowing for analysis) where previously only PDF files were used.

Full cycle accounting, close, budgets, forecasts for 15 locations in Southwest Ontario. Integrated Balance Sheets of several acquired companies and established proper systems of account reconciliation and internal controls.Key Accomplishments: Rebuilt how revenue was analyzed by creating a system that assigned variances to buckets without user discretion, replacing a system of individual qualitative assessments. Built a new system of balance sheet reconciliations.
