I recently received my Masters of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have clinical experience working with child and adolescent victims of trauma, clients with mood disorders, sexually reactive youth, and substance use disorders. I am experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and also have a working knowledge of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and use a Biopsychosocial-spiritual framework to inform my practice. I am a firm believer in the benefits of mindfulness practices for a variety of issues, on a personal and clinical level. I hope to continue working with victims of trauma, and seek to integrate this knowledge with individuals dealing with substance use disorders. I believe that awareness of the mind-body connection can have tremendous healing power, and I hope to be involved with some sort of mindfulness/meditation based interventions in my future practice.
