I am an engineer and team leader currently leading the design of the toroidal field (TF) coil system on SPARC. My primary goal in this role is to deliver an array of TF coils that provide sufficient magnetic field on-axis to ensure SPARC meets its fusion energy goal of Q>2. My work on the TFs started in 2019 with the conceptual design of the TFs and sizing of SPARC. I transitioned to the design and fabrication of the primary structural components for the TF model coil in 2020. Since the TF model coil project, I have moved back to the TF and have served as deputy lead, design lead, and manager to the TF team. I am the engineering responsible officer for the TF and work cross-functionally across Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain functions within CFS to deliver TFs meeting budget, schedule, and engineering requirements.
