I am an accomplished, respected and results oriented leader with extensive experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment who excels in building relationships, developing people, and inspiring a team atmosphere. I’ve always been a curious person. One who wants to understand “why” and “how” of something and see if I can make it better. I had two passions as a kid: sports and computers. In essence, I was the nerdy jock. My parents bought a Commodore 128 computer in the 1980’s and that was the beginning of my passion for computing. Over the years, I continued to grow my computer skills, which followed me into my college years where I landed my first computer job at the University of West Florida. I supported the faculty, staff, and students with their various computing needs. We took on the project of converting the campus network from token-ring to ethernet as ethernet was making its way as becoming the standard. I had a blast!Later, I landed my first professional job with Gateway Computers in North Sioux City, South Dakota. This proved to be one of the most awesome professional experiences as I was surrounded by cutting edge technology and working with talented engineers across the globe within our company and others such as Samsung, Foxconn, Intel, and Microsoft. I lived the .com era.As the .com era ended, it was time for me to go beyond my computing love and see if I could use my talents to help businesses outside of the technology sector. I often tell people that I learned a lot about technology early in my career, but it wasn’t until I joined Conagra Brands that I learned a lot about business. In an industry that has tight margins, it is imperative that costs are diligently managed. I learned to think like a business leader and critically analyze how I can apply technology to optimize processes. This is also when I found the power of data and analytics and how it helps us make more informed decisions.My experiences at TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab & Co. have led me deeper into the world of software development, analytics, data governance, management, and science. In all my experiences, the most rewarding accomplishments are when I see people come together, embrace the challenge, and excel at accomplishing the mission. Without the people, none of it can happen successfully.
