I have been a member of the Royal Air Force since September 2009. During which I have been trained as an Intelligence Analyst since 2010 and specialised as an Imagery Analyst in 2012.I have worked across many areas during my career, starting off by working with the RAF Regiment providing weekly update briefs on Op HERRICK.After training as an Imagery Analyst I worked in the operational field producing products including; counter-IED, compound analysis and route analysis. I also worked in the strategic field as a naval analyst.I reached the rank of Sergeant before deciding to Commission as an Officer in 2019,I deployed to Benghazi, Libya as part of Op ELLAMY from July-October 2011 where I mentored and taught Intelligence Analysis to members of the Libyan Military. As the tour developed, I was called upon to produce imagery analysis products to assist in NATO targeting operations, despite having not received any official training in that area.I deployed again to Afghanistan as part of Op HERRICK from July 2013-January 2014 as the deployed element of the Defence Geospatial Intelligence Fusion Centre. During this tour I was required to produce imagery analysis products that directly supported ground operations. I also worked closely and hand in hand with a Royal Engineers Geographic Technician, together producing geospatial intelligence products. I was also required to closely liaise with members of the Intelligence Corps to successfully fuse my products with theirs to corroborate and provide more detail to customers. During this tour I also had regular contact and communication with analysts that were using full motion video to produce products and incorporated that intelligence into my own analysis.In 2016, I was successful in applying for the position of Phase 2 Instructor. During my time here I was responsible for teaching newly recruited members of the intelligence trade, over a 16 week course, to enable them to become productive and capable in the job. In 2019 I decided to apply for a Commission as a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Pilot and successfully passed selection. I commenced Officer training in 2020 and am currently in pilot training.
