Assist with management of the U.S. Department of Education's Adult Education and Family Literacy Act grant. The grant, authorized under Title II of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, provides funding and technical assistance to twenty institutions who deliver adult education services across the state of Kansas. Major Duties • Monitor local program implementation and performance • Review all data and financial reports for accuracy and compliance • Train local programs on use of Kansas's adult education data system • Implement the WIOA combined state plan in conjunction with the Kansas Department of Commerce and the Kansas Department for Children and Families • Serve on the WIOA State Plan Management Team with representatives from key state agencies • Engage Local Workforce Development Boards to ensure alignment between adult education and local workforce plans • Manage the Accelerating Opportunity - Kansas program • Approve all Accelerating Opportunity career pathwaysKey Accomplishments • Key team member drafting a WIOA compliant request for proposals • Key team member planning and hosting Kansas's first Innovations in Adult and Career Technical Education conference • Rewrote Kansas's adult education performance-based funding formula • Rewrote Kansas's adult education policy manual, ensuring WIOA compliance • Headed efforts to update Kansas's adult education data system to comply with new federal reporting requirements
