Chris heads up the banking & finance group at Clyde & Co and has extensive experience in real estate finance, leveraged/acquisition finance and insurance related finance, and has also acted on a number of project finance, debt restructuring, asset backed finance and general corporate lending transactions, including work on a number of high profile cross border transactions in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and the USA. Prior to joining Clyde & Co Chris spent 12 years at Clifford Chance including spells in their Dubai, Singapore and Tokyo offices.Experience includes:- Acting for the arrangers on a USD 1.1 billion term loan facility financing a consortium bidding for the acquisition of Transatlantic Re- Acted for a substantial Hong Kong property company on a circa GBP 24 million term loan facility, secured by a portfolio of 24 industrial estates throughout the UK- Acting for National Australia Bank Limited on a USD 106.5 million term loan facility financing the acquisition of Clarendon Holdings Limited by the Enstar Group- Acting for a UK developer on the complex financing aspects of a GBP 78 million four star hotel and residential apartment complex in Guildford, involving three levels of debt all with their own security including intercreditor arrangements, senior mezzanine debt and subordinated debt- Acting for the financiers on a USD 180 million letter of credit facility to provide Funds at Lloyd’s to support and stand account for reinsurance to close business undertaken through a managed Lloyd’s syndicate- Acting for Credit Suisse on several commercial property finance deals including the refinancing of a retail outlet on Oxford Street, LondonActing for the borrower in negotiating and drafting the relevant documents for the refinancing of Chelsea Harbour – a mixed use development in Central London situated on the north bank of the River Thames in Chelsea containing a five star luxury hotel, offices, showrooms and a small marina
