Redland Brick has 5 manufacturing plants. I work closely with the Plant Managers at the plants to maintain Safety Programs, Safety Inspections, Safety Committee Meetings and OSHA/MSHA compliance. I also handle the workers compensation, working with claims reps and attorneys for resolution. I work closely with the plants to maintain accurate OSHA logs and injury/accident reports. I also monitor and track safety training for all plants. I continually monitor the OSHA/MSHA websites for new or changing regulations. Keeping up with the regulations and standards is a full time job in itself!! Remember: No safety know pain, know safety no pain! And don't learn safety by accident!

To get my foot in the door at Redland Brick, I accepted a position as Administrative Assistant in order to learn about the brick industry. In this capacity, I worked with our Customer Service Dept., Accounting Dept., IT Dept. as well as fulfilled the daily administrative duties.

I started out working on the production floor in the Finishing Dept. then for 15 years worked as the Lead Person for the Finishing Dept. In this capacity, I monitored process flow following lean manufacturing principles, maintained accurate inventory, assisted in monthly physical inventories, helped to implement QS-9000, JDEdwards system, assisted in implementing a kanban system (lean manufacturing), provided analytical decision making skills. I then accepted a position as Production Control Coordinator, working closely with our plant in PA, 2 plants in Mexico and 2 plants in MD. I was responsible for creating daily/weekly production plans, scheduling shipments, processed work orders, coordinated process flow and expediting production (when necessary). I was responsible for tracking and reporting production numbers, evaluating production issues and reporting them to Plant Manager. I was also involved with the daily conference calls with all plant managers and schedulers.After GST closed its facility in the MD location. I went back to college (2005 - 2007) to further my Business Administration skills.
