Worked as part of a 50 engineer team spread over three locations in two countries to develop new technologies to enable customers to asses their own cyber security posture as well as those of vendors, subsidiaries, potential M&A targets, and cyber insurance clients.* Founded council to oversee our microservice architecture. Responsibilities include: coalescing our many microservice stacks into a few that the company will support going forward, making schemas for endpoints required for all required endpoints, shaping the architecture of our microservices going forward* Lead team of five developers in project to create a cyber insurance breach (data exfiltration) model utilizing our Security Ratings and Service Provider relationship data. In addition to leading the team, I built the data pipeline (a series of Spark jobs that saved results on Amazon S3) and the microservice (Scala/JAX-RS (Resteasy)/Undertow) which provided the data for the feature* Lead team of five developers over multiple quarters to merge our Discover product into our main Security Ratings portal* Optimized Python/Flask microservice that used Neo4J as a backend to decrease response times by over 80% on average. Included changing runtime from CPython to PyPy, rewriting queries as stored procedures, and implementing chunked responses to lessen the memory requirements on the server while constructing responses* Designed and implemented Scala/Scalatra microservice that served over 3TB of event data from an Amazon S3 datastore. This required custom engineering to store the data on S3 in a format that could be easily queried without requiring any kind of database server* Helped implement a big data storage layer on S3 that could be used as input for Hadoop jobs.
