I’m a writer and teacher with a focus on wilderness and contemplative practice. I’ve received a National Endowment for the Humanities Teacher/Scholar Award for a study of place and wilderness in the Christian contemplative tradition—and now I’ve completed a novel based on these themes.In 2008-9 my wife and I completed a 10-month journey to study sacred art in local communities around the world. Since then I’ve also edited, worked as a writing consultant, and tutored young writers.
