Eli Lilly and Company is a global biopharmaceutical company.My responsibilities include leading Lilly's UK's Policy Government Affairs programme and engagement with Government, Parliamentarians, and other senior stakeholders.I also take the lead in developing policy positions across a range of national and global priority issues, including trade and investment, the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy, and Brexit.I support the coordination of Lilly's Brexit programme, providing strategic counsel to senior global and Hub leadership on the political process, working closely with colleagues across the business and in different geographies in support of Lilly's Business Continuity Planning activities.I am responsible for delivering integrated public affairs programmes in support of Lilly's UK business objectives and product portfolio, working closely with colleagues in other Public Affairs functions to enhance Lilly's ability to operate across the UK.In my role I have significant trade association engagement and agency management responsibilities.

The British Society for Immunology is one of the largest immunology societies in Europe with a membership that spans academia, industry and clinical practice. The Society's primary objective is to promote and support excellence in research, scholarship, and clinical practice in immunology for the benefit of human and animal health.I have responsibility for leading the organisation's public affairs activity. This involves strategic engagement with key political and policy debates, representing the organisation with external stakeholders in health, science, Westminster, and Government, and working to develop the BSI's profile to support the membership and the wider immunological community.

The Royal College of Surgeons' Public Affairs Team manages all of the College's engagement with politicians and other key stakeholders. By raising awareness about members' concerns and working to influence Government healthcare policy, the team enable surgeons to achieve and maintain the highest standards of surgical practice and patient care.

Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) was established in 1971 by the Royal College of Physicians. It is a campaigning public health charity that works to eliminate the harm caused by tobacco.ASH is involved in the development of tobacco control policies both nationally and internationally and during my time at ASH I covered a range of topics. A substantive part of my work was spent assisting on the campaign for standardised packaging of tobacco products. I also covered various other policy issues pertinent to ASH, including smoking in pregnancy and tobacco control in local government.

Researched and developed the evidence base in order to support policy development, campaigning, and to identify best practices in support of the charity’s vision and purpose;Worked in support of the policy and public affairs team by writing policy briefs and summary reports, aiding with consultation responses and representing CLIC Sargent at stakeholder meetings;Developed a keen understanding of the policy issues affecting children with cancer and in the wider sphere of health and social care in general.
