Chris Lumsden is a segment producer for ABC News, where he covers nationwide breaking news events, books insightful interviews and works closely with senior/executive producers to bring segments to fruition on the network’s 24/7 streaming channel. Lumsden, an Emmy-nominated producer, has covered a wide range of stories and major events, including the college admissions cheating scandal, 2020 presidential election, Jan. 6 Capitol riot, Biden-Putin Summit, murder trial of Derek Chauvin, death of Kobe Bryant, Surfside building collapse, nationwide protests and countless mass shootings across the country, from Uvalde to San Jose. Lumsden regularly contributes to Good Morning America’s digital channels and has bylines in several pieces. In 2021, one of his articles, “Working mother of 4 passes bar exam after studying for 9 years,” became GMA’s most successful social post for the entire year. Prior to his current role, Lumsden worked at ‘World News Tonight With David Muir’ during the time that the program was ranked the most-watched on all of U.S. broadcast and cable television. With a strong passion for reporting on stories from underrepresented regions, he became the proud founder of Color Coded Voices in 2018, a non-profit site that highlights uplifting stories from communities of color across the country. His platform has since garnered much online attention and has over 100,000 supporters on social media. Lumsden was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. He holds a B.A. in Media Studies and Production from the Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University.
