The Westpac Group (Group) Risk Centre of Excellence Second Line of Defence (2LOD) Controls Assurance Wealth Team, represents a function that defines and monitors frameworks for the management of material risks by undertaking independent reviews of risk management activities performed by the First Line of Defence (1LOD) in accordance with the Group Risk Management Strategy and Operational Risk Management Framework.Working within the Controls Assurance team, I was responsible for leading and executing risk and compliance advisory, control assessments and monitoring services to provide an independent assurance opinion on the effectiveness and maturity of the Group's wealth division BT Financial Group (BTFG), its business units (BUs) and its Management (i.e. 1LOD) in managing risk and compliance.
