Resource Management: Ore Control (Aug 2021 - October 2023)Supervised the Morenci Ore Control Geologists while also being product owner of lithologic, mineralogical, alteration and acid consumption models the geologists generated daily. A comprehensive geological competencies checklist was created to streamline development and training for the pit geologists, Each checklist item was supported with video documentation and linked site resources for each item. The more experienced geologists on each crew would train the new geologists and be accountable for the success and development of each competency. The result would be reviewed by me, inducing a routine of refreshers and feedback for new and experienced geologists alike. This checklist was also paired with a 38-week quiz program that would a wide variety of site geology and material processing concepts with increasing level of difficulty for each week a new geologist was in ore control. Resource Management: Interpretive Geology (October 2023 - August 2024)Product Owner of Morenci’s Lithologic, Mineralogical & Structural interpretations. The initiative was to convert models from use in Hexagon’s MinePlan 3D’s software package (using mid bench & sectional polygons) to the Leapfrog Geo software package as 3D wireframes. Highlights included the approval of Morenci’s Lithology model for use in the 2024 Reserve Model, the procedures for which migrated the data into a Leapfrog Models are being used as a template for Freeport’s other North American sites to replicate.
