In 2008, after 5 years of growth and development in our single business location, my wife and I decided to pursue our dream of rebuilding the Arthur Murray brand in Northern California by opening the first new location in over 25 years when we opened our second school in Livermore, California. Less than two months after opening, we received a call that would change everything: Arthur Murray Redwood city was being shut down... and our corporate HQ wanted us to save it. So we jumped from 1 to 3 locations in 2008. We turned the nearly-shut down Redwood City location into the #1 location in the world in 2010 and 2012.We opened Arthur Murray Walnut Creek in 2011, opened Arthur Murray San Francisco in 2015 - 10 years after the owner lost her business, and in 2018 we are slated to open Arthur Murray San Rafael and Arthur Murray Salt Lake City. Both locations formerly had studios that shut down in the 1980's. As wonderful as these strategic business maneuvers have been, there is one thing that is essential to point out - every move has been facilitated by a team of fantastic staff, and has been prompted by an unrelenting urge for us to create opportunities for their growth.

One of the greatest decisions of my life that almost didn't happen. I showed up for my first interview at Arthur Murray San Jose, looked in the window, and drove home scared, angry, and regretful. Got home, went into the bathroom, looked myself in the mirror and slapped myself... twice, and yelled "you're better than this!"I went back the next day with no appointment. Had my interview. Entered the training program, and discovered what I was meant to do with my life.

As a member of the ARTHUR Murray training team, I was fortunate enough to travel all across the United States and overseas to develop the skills of teachers, managers, and ARTHUR murray franchisees.
