The Digital Service Committee (DSC) at MEF defines the standards for digital services typically sold by communication service providers and hyperscalers to their customers. This includes, for example, Optical, Ethernet, IP, Cloud, SD-WAN and SASE services. Some of the most technically strong representatives from across the telecom spectrum attend to influence these standards. I am responsible to manage the committee and its processes to drive consensus between these diverse parties resulting in formal industry standards.

➢ Set technical direction of CENX from its inception in 2009 to a ~250 person company in 2018, with a reputation as a leader in next generation service assurance. The company was sold to Ericsson in September, 2018.➢ Responsible for CTO, PLM, R&D, and sales support functions with a staff of ~30 people while CENX operated as a carrier Ethernet Exchange service provider. During this time, my team built the software that was determined to be the company’s most valuable asset.➢ Managed through a company pivot to become a pure software vendor in late 2013 when it became apparent that the Ethernet Exchange business model would not work. ➢ Directly involved in all major customer and partner engagements including acting as executive prime into Verizon, by far our largest customer.

➢ Set technical direction of Nakina from a two-year-old company with revenues of less than $1M in 2005 to a $28M company in 2009. ➢ Responsible, as CTO, to understand the industry and set the long-term vision for the company. Also responsible, as VP of Product Management, to direct the R&D investment to execute on that vision while managing to quarterly business objectives.➢ Heavy customer interaction was a critical part of the role, both to understand the customer’s challenges and to establish Nakina’s credibility to address them.
