I also have to carryout routine crane maintenance duties including greasing and other crane machinery lubrication duties in accordance with the maintenance routines, manufacturer’s manuals and service charts.Projects:•The development and refurbishment of 413 private student bedrooms at John Bell House – the former Belfast Metropolitan College building at College Square East.•Belfast. Also in the ship repair yard there were projects for planned and emergency repairs and upgrades to a wide range of vessel types. Belfast Harbour

My main duties were to safely operate a 40 tonne Liebherr Container Gantry crane and Gottwald Harbour Mobile cranes in Belfast Harbour while loading and unloading cargo ships. My other duties were to operate 27 tonne overhead gantry cranes in the dockside warehouse, where I had to organise large quantities of sheet metal coils for storage and delivery. William Reid LTD are a shipping agents / stevedoring company who handle a wide variety of cargoes but specialise in the handling of steel products.

I was also required to carry out the duties of a slinger/banksman with the shipyards dock cranes and 350 tonne mobile cranes. The 360ft-high rig, the Blackford Dolphin is undergoing a multi-million-pound refurbishment in advance of a drilling project in the North Sea.
