Accountable for the provision of an integrated end-to-end global supply chain organisation that plans, sources makes and delivers material for phase I-IV clinical studies (approx 600 studies) . This is delivered through a professional internal drug substance, drug product and packed product manufacturing assets aswell as external sourcing and study programme and management capabilities. The role holder is also accountable for providing the sourcing capability to support all Pharmaceutical Development activities and manages the external $ budget for material supply. • Lead the R&D Supply Chain organisation globally (Sweden, UK, US, China, Poland)• Interface with key stakeholders in Global Medicines Development, including Clinical Operations, GMeds as well as Operations and iMeds• Define and deliver an R&D Supply Chain strategy that facilitates optimal sourcing and supply for all drug projects across overall small molecule and late stage large molecule portfolio• Accountable for driving Supply Chain professionalism across R&D Supply chain and delivering metrics to optimise overall performance including asset optimisation• Lead a multidiscipline team focused on improving the delivery to the agreed timescales, costs and quality through effective sourcing and capacity planning across internal assets and external suppliers• Provide updates on demand/supply progress, risks and opportunities to the Pharmaceutical Development Leadership Team for review, challenge and issue resolution• Contribute as a member of the Pharmaceutical Development Leadership Team in the creation of current and future strategies including the review of internal and external options for delivery of the strategies• Be accountable for the protection of the intellectual property assets of AstraZeneca in consultation with IP and legal specialists as arising from Pharmaceutical Development sourcing activities

• The International Region is made up over 100 markets (emerging and established), split in to 7 business units and geographically covers Latin America, Asia, Middle East Africa, Japan, Australia/New Zealand, Russia, China/Hong Kong.• Accountable for supply to all markets across the International Region in order to support sales of ~$7bn• Accountable for the alignment, generation and implementation of the Operation Emerging Markets Strategy in order to maximise value to the International commercial region.• The primary point of contact to the Senior International Commercial Leadership Team from Operations. • Provide leadership and direction to the culturally and geographically diverse International Regional Demand Management Team (~40 FTE’s located in over 30 countries). • Accountable for the implementation and roll out of Market S+OP and Integrated Business Planning Processes at Market, Area and International Region level• Develops and drives alignment of Operations Supply Chain tactics and strategies in order to maximise growth and value to the International Commercial Region• Leads the Supply elements of change programmes and projects, working with the business to develop and prioritise delivery of AstraZeneca’s Supply strategy • Designs and ensures alignment in short, medium and long term Supply strategy with commercial business units and alignment to the overall business strategy.• Challenges, influences and improves strategies, tactics and plans presented by the group Commercial and Supply teams• Oversees the development of Supply mechanisms in line with group objectives to ensure the achievement of long term business goals• Leads the use of sophisticated commercial models, reports and forecasts to challenge and strengthen decision making processes across the business area• Optimises key relationships within the organisation to take full advantage of efficiencies and meet compliance obligations

Main accountabilities / activities undertaken in this role include:- To develop and implement product supply strategies and plans which ensure security of supply and optimise supply chain performance (e.g. lead time, working capital, days of inventory and cost to supply). - Define and own the Value Stream Map for each product, and to track performance against these plans. - Collaborating with the Global Commercial Organisation to ensure that the E2E supply chain is desinged to maximise the value the brnads. - To drive the process defining the strategic life cycle supply planning of products to achieve optimal value.- To facilitate new product introductions; determining inventory policies, supply chain design, leading capacity planning and reviewing post-launch forecasts with early market data to ensure appropriate corrective actions when necessary.- To manage the Global Supply Team (a cross functional senior leadership team) for designated brands.- Defining strategic sourcing options for products within asset/technology streams.

International Assignment - Reporting to the VP of EMEA Operations and Marketing Company President for BeNeLux, the main accountabilities / activities undertaken in this role include:- Leading a team of approximately 350 members to deliver the short and medium term business goals - Leadership and professional development of a multi disciplined management team.- Management and control of revenue, engineering and manpower budgets to the value of 6 Million Euros.- Definition, control and lifecycle management of a diverse product portfolio of tablets and noval devices (approximately 300 variants) and delivery of operational packaging and supply to Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. - Developing and executing regional strategy and business processes as a member of the Operations European Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and BeNeLux Senior Commerical Team.
