Upon commencing employment at LogiCamms I was quickly promoted to Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary project teams in delivering innovative, fit for purpose and cost effective solutions for LogiCamms customers.Some of my key responsibilities included:- Design, development, management, commissioning and support of complex Control Systems.- Conducting Protective Device Audits (PDA/CAPD) and Anti-Collision System (ACS) safety audits on balance machines to ensure compliance with client safety and functional specifications.- Estimating and quoting on provision of labor and equipment for multi-disciplinary projects.- Budgeting, forecasting and reporting on project metrics and finances.- Supporting the implementation of strategic direction for engineering within the department.- Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and peers.- Recommendation of improvements to engineering systems and processes.- Continuous development of industry networks and contacts.- Development and review of technical documentation and procedures.

Finucane Island Port Hedland

Largely self-directed and often reporting directly to the Maintenance Superintendent and/or Manager, my role as a 24/7 Shift Maintenance Engineer primarily entailed providing first response electrical and control system field support and subject matter expertise to all Port Operations and Maintenance personnel regarding breakdowns, investigations and reliability issues with the intent of reducing the frequency and duration of electrical and control system related random delays.

Finucane Island Port Hedland

Working in a team environment and reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer within the Finucane Island Maintenance, Analysis and Improvement department I collaborated with fellow engineers and maintenance personnel to improve plant reliability and throughput through proactively identifying, managing and executing maintenance and asset improvement projects.

Nelson Point Port Hedland

Having transitioned from a Mechanical Engineering position to one in the Electrical and Control Engineering field I was able to draw from my previous experience giving me a deeper understanding and appreciation for the impacts changes to the control system have on the associated mechanical equipment. This proved to be a valuable skill in identifying reliability issues and plant optimisation opportunities from an Electrical and Controls Engineering perspective.

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer for BHP Billiton working out of the Outflow Engineering department at their Port Hedland iron ore handling facilities I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience working with both fixed and mobile bulk ore handling plant. My primary focus was upon identifying, initiating, managing and executing plant maintenance and improvement projects to deliver outcomes in a safe, effective manner.
