Compassion oriented person who happens to be pretty darn good at the computer stuff. Dynamics CE rn, but good with BI, SQL, programming, and BA stuff. I like having a mission that involves helping people, or helping a diverse, intersectional and inclusive company take over the world. :-) A bit more about my background...I was always interested in computers. My father always loved computers and game systems back in the 80's. I especially remember the Commodore, and writing programs in BASIC when I was 6 years old. I really enjoyed that, and I enjoyed trying to get all the pirated games my brother's had to play. I remember the art from the cracker crewz always fascinated me.In the 90's I got my first PC. I stepped away from programming then, but was really interested in gaming, and troubleshooting. I remember editing that config.sys and trying to move memory around. In school, our class was the first one to convert from typing on typewritters to computers, and the typing teacher would always call me (even out of other classes) to help troubleshoot the computers.When I was 16 I taught a load of our local neighbors how to use computers at the school after dark. That was in 1996 - the internet at home was new. After high-school, I figured I could get a job in computers right out of school. I tried, and ended up on the shipping floor at a warehouse. I did that for six months and I knew I needed to go back to school. I did a 2 year compressed program in computer science.My first job was teaching computers again, a short time job of convenience at a library in Ontario. But it was through my contacts there I started my first career job. That job was an amazing opportunity for me, I became the one-person IT department at a small municipality, and was also assigned the job of implementing the 9-1-1 system. I was just 21 when I started and the project took 3 years. I took a collection of paper and spreadsheet records and transformed them into an enhanced 9-1-1 system covering over 10,000 people and 500 sq km, with the research, addressing updates, meetings that went with it. I stayed with that job a few years after as I started my family and improved various things but work had slowed, so I moved to my next job.I became the embedded IT person for fire department in the city, a move up in many ways. While I was there I focused on the dispatch system, and implementing projects. I improved life safety in many ways while I was there, from improving tech in the fire trucks and stations, allowing for faster responses, to analysis.
