Since joining the team, I have gained experience and furthered my knowledge within the IT industry by building, administrating and maintaining Linux servers and virtual solutions such as Xen and KVM. I have also gained experience in writing System Validation documentation and Standard Operating Procedures.I have been given many projects to manage such as the implementation of a new Helpdesk System and the integration of Timaeus's (in house software) reporting server and one of our customers external systems. During my time at Cmed I have also temporarily acted as Line manager for a team of 4 technical analysts and 2 systems administrators. My Primary Duties and Responsibilities include: Install and maintain business critical, cloud-based, Linux system (Ubuntu, Centos, Debian, RedHat) running on over 150 virtualised servers split between 2 UK and 2 US data centres. Respond to user queries (2nd line) through the National Helpdesk system, and ensure responses are timely and accurate. Responsible for building, shipping and maintaining custom build laptop devices in over 20 countries in Europe, Africa, North America, South America and Australasia. Support over 200 internal and over 2000 external users in 27 countries. Project managed the integration and system validation of Cognos reporting solutions software into the Timaeus Support team Produced Standard Operating Procedures to ensure all technical tasks are carried out to a regulatory standard. Project managed the validation and implementation of the Cerberus Helpdesk software.

Promoted to Infrastructure Engineer and relocated to Crawley My Primary Duties and Responsibilities included: Administration of Windows servers running Exchange, ISA server, Unicenter and SQL server. Respond to user queries (2nd line) raised through the National Helpdesk system, and ensure timely and accurate responses. Capacity and Availability management of Data Centre operations including backups, storage, networks and perimeter security. Management of regional office infrastructure; including file and print server, backups and network. Learned to use Scrum to move our existing, current and future projects forward.

My main duties and responsibilities included: Set up, install and repair desktops, laptops and servers including full client software installations, using the Windows XP Professional platform. Configuration and maintenance of network printing. Assist the National IT Faculty in deployment of new software, and resolution of any local issues relating to LAN. Ensure appropriate access for all staff through Active Directory. Respond to user queries (1st line) raised through the National Helpdesk system, and ensure responses by the team are timely and accurate.
