I work on a variety of projects from Fire Risk Assessments, Compartmentation Surveys and Fire Strategy.• Fire Strategy – identify passive and active fire safety elements (such as fire extinguishers, fire doors and fire sprinklers) within a building. Make comments against the building referring to the building regulations and use mechanical drawings to identify if the travel distances for escape comply with the regulations. • Compartmentation Surveys – Undertake surveys across sites to identify concerns that affects the integrity of the building against a fire • Remedials – Attend sites to rectify any concerns that were found during the survey (such as fire stopping or minor door repairs) • Fire Risk Assessments – Professionally and accurately undertake fire risk assessments to identify ways to remove/reduce the risks of hazards in a building. Outline safety measures that could be introduced to ensure the safety of everyone in the building (i.e., warning signs and fire detection). Produce KTM (Key Task Manager) for the client so they can effectively manage any improvements that need to be made• Fire Damper Surveys & Testing – Undertake surveys to locate and assess the condition of the fire dampers across the site. Produce a report to illustrate the findings, noting down any defects. If necessary, re-attend the site to test and remediate any defects • Quality Control – Attend sites to plan the route for a fire main installation system. Record all the data from welds, make visual inspections and assess the quality of each weld. Create a drawing using CAD to update the project manager on the status of the project • Hydrant Flow Testing – Preform flow tests on Fire Hydrants across the site to record data and assess the condition.
