Overall Management and reporting of the trading (buying and selling), logistics and administration of the company's Commodity Trading Dept. This included advising on procurement of internal as well as external feed commodities, risk management, credit control and Management of the Trading Departments 11 head office based staff.I had also worked within the Commodity Trading Department from 1992 - 2004 specialising in the area of trading proteins.Combined I had worked for this company for 16 years.

This position commenced as a new office in Australia for the Wilbur Ellis Company.Reporting directly to the USA, my role was to develop and administer all aspects of the business within the Australian Feed Division office. Primarily the role was to support and expand the Company’s North American, Petfood and Asian feed ingredient operations with supply opportunities from Australia.Role included:• Development of Australian Ovine meal supply base and provide ongoing support to the groups North American Petfood ingredient operation.• Contribute towards the development of the Company’s feed ingredient business to their Asian office network.• Visit Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia for the purpose of educating Asian staff and customers.• Organising Company booths and attending international trade exhibitions in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.• Negotiate purchase and sales contracts with suppliers and customers.• Manage logistics and documentation to support the Australian export and import business.• Negotiate any quality claims for product found to be outside of contractual specifications.• Monitor supplier quality and instigate corrective action if necessary.• Monitor Australian production and forecast trends which would influence the Company’s market strategies.• Represent the Company at industry level at Australian Renderers Association (ARA) and Pet Food Industry Association of Australia (PFIAA).• Become involved at government level as required, in matters affecting the Company’s suppliers and market access.• Research and introduce potential new export opportunities to support the Company’s Nthn American and Asian marketing programs.Key Achievements• Developed the Company’s Ovine meal supply base from 3 producers to 9 high quality producers in 2011.• Establish supply of European origin rendered meal supply to the Company’s Asian branch operations.• Started the Company’s Australian containerised wheat export business in 2011.

Based in the Commodity Trading Division and managing the procurement and trading of the company's Animal Proteins for domestic use and export to Japan and South east Asia. This included Australian produced domestic meat byproducts, imported fishmeal. Also involved in the Company's synthetic proteins, Cottonseed and grains domestic and export trading.

Manage the operation of the Recycled Cooking Oil business while the owner at the time focused on building and development of the new site processing plant.This included procurement and development of new sources of supply, processing, marketing, logistics and debtor control.

Responsible for the procurement and management of stocks of Australian bulk and drummed tallow for export. This involved procurement and logistics of storage and QA for bulk and drummed stocks. Included monitoring of production and contracts, purchasing at tender and private treaty, supervision of cargo survey, testing, vessel loading and stock control.

Initially started as a junior in the shipping department and progressed to export documentation until achieving the position of Sales manager - Rendered Products in 1985. This position involved responsibility for setting of production standards for the company's rendered products, through to QA, marketing, logistics, export documentation and debtor control.At this time, Waitaki had become the country's largest meat processor and accounted for some 25% of New Zealand's total rendered products production. While in this role, I was responsible for extensively developing direct export marketing of the Company's Meat and Bone Meal and Tallow to overseas consumers.
