My role within Atkins has been within the Power Generation Sector (conventional and nuclear) and has involved the design, integrity assessment and life management of mechanical components for generators based in the UK and abroad. This has included steam turbines, boilers, HRSGs, feedwater heaters, pipework, condensers, compressors, pumps, valves etc. Through my secondment roles into EDF and Horizon Nuclear Power as a Senior Conventional Island Engineer, I have gained experience in regulatory engagement, contract requirement setting and contract management. As part of my position at Horizon, I was competency assessed to perform the Intelligent Customer role for the conventional island systems as part of the Design Authority. In my role at EDF I have authored several Conventional Island and Balance of Plant intermediate safety case documents in advance of the Pre-Commissioning Safety Report submission for HPC.
