Started work in 1989 as a telecoms engineer with the Queensland Government Centre for Information Technology and Communications (CITEC). After 3 years, moved on to contract for 2 years to Queensland Transport and Main Roads as a network engineer for traffic signals and street lighting on the Gold Coast. Then moved on to work for 4 years with Pacific Star Communications in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. The core business of Pacific Star was telecommunications billing and reporting for organisations. Started as a telecoms engineer and finished as the West Australian Operations Manager. Then worked for two years in Malaysia on the PETRONAS Twin Towers project as the Senior Consultant for the IT&T procurement and fit-out. Upon moving back to Australia, worked as a Senior Consultant with Consultel Australia Pty Ltd on numerous projects both in Australia and the Asia Pacific region for a number of years before joining Fastlane Software Pty Ltd.
